HEPA Filter Integrity Testing
Verifying Performance. Ensuring Protection. Staying Compliant.
HEPA filters are designed to trap the smallest of airborne particles, but even the highest quality filters can fail over time due to damage, poor installation, or seal leaks. That's why integrity testing is essential, not optional.

We provide certified HEPA filter integrity testing using DOP methods, ensuring your filters are performing as specified and keeping your critical environments safe and compliant.

What Is HEPA Filter Integrity Testing?
Integrity testing is a method of confirming that a HEPA or ULPA filter is intact and leak-free, not just in the media itself, but at the seals and housing too.

Using industry-standard test methods (such as Dispersed Oil Particulate (DOP)), we challenge the filter with a known aerosol upstream, then scan the downstream face to detect any particle penetration. A leak-free result confirms that the filter is doing its job, protecting people, processes, and products.

Testing can be carried out as part of scheduled maintenance, system commissioning, or after filter replacement.

When does a filter need to be tested?
HEPA filters should be tested at key points to ensure safety, performance, and compliance with current, UK standards. Every new HEPA filter must be tested on installation to confirm it’s correctly fitted and leak-free. Routine testing is essential, typically carried out at least once a year. However, certain environments, such as GMP cleanrooms, healthcare facilities, and biosafety cabinets may require more frequent checks to meet MHRA, COSHH, or HTM 03-01 guidance.

After any filter replacement, integrity testing is needed to ensure proper installation and sealing. Similarly, if any maintenance or modifications are carried out on the system, housing, or ductwork, a re-test should follow. Finally, if there are signs of reduced airflow, contamination, or unexpected particle levels, testing should be done immediately to rule out filter damage or seal failure.

Dynamic Envirotech is comfortable working in critical environments and under rigid time constraints. We can help you with your validation needs during your next shutdown. Whether working from an in-house testing procedure or from recognised industry standards, you can be sure you will receive a complete, compliant report at the completion of your testing.
